Natural Cures For Feminine Dryness

How Can I Increase My Natural Lubrication?

This is a common question and one that most women will ask at least once in their lives, especially during pivotal transition times like menopause or breastfeeding when vaginal skin can become extremely dry due to hormonal changes.

The vaginal flora can fluctuate for seemingly no reason at all. Alcohol, stress, diet, traveling, environmental factors, and skincare products can all contribute to increased vaginal dryness. Adding frustration to the unpredictability.

Drink All The Water

The number one thing for natural lubrication is to double or triple your water intake. Yes, it sounds extreme but dehydration is a big factor in vaginal dryness. Make water more fun by adding fresh cucumber or lemon slices. Lemon and cucumber water also helps to create a detox effect within the body, which can be beneficial if you're looking for ways to detox or fight inflammation.

Do You Drink Wine?

Alcohol can also mess with the natural flora as well. Even just one glass of wine for some women really dries them out. If you're noticing extra dryness a day or so after consuming alcohol, take a note as it may be a factor. In general, alcohol is a toxin to our system and increases potential for dehydration. You can choose to abstain or really double-down on that water intake to compensate for the alcohol consumption.

Watch What You Eat

Within holistic healing, especially with gals who have Endometriosis, dairy, wheat, and added-sugar are considered "inflammation causing foods" and can add to flora fluctuation along with other issues. Not every person is sensitive to each of those three items, but you may want to test each type and see how your body responds. An easy way to test is doing an elimination diet where you remove one food group at a time for one month and then track how you feel. It's much easier than going cold-turkey all at once.

Fruits And Veggies Are Life Giving Foods

Eat LOTS of fruits and vegetables!! This is so important. Those "life giving foods" are incredible for the female body, and are packed full of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals that can't be replicated. One of our favorite smoothies is 1 banana, 1 orange, frozen mango, frozen blueberries, and frozen cherries. Add water and blend until smooth. Delicious!

Are You Stressed Out?

Aside from diet, stress is also a big factor for natural lubrication. If you're constantly stressed or full of anxiety, then your body can't relax and create that lubrication for the moments of passion. Yoga, meditation, and outdoor walk, or just listening to relaxing music for five minutes can help ease the body of the added stress and cortisol that's pumping through your veins. Most women have to feel relaxed and worry free to enjoy intimacy. If you're laying in bed trying to checkoff your grocery list, then the magic can't happen.

Ancient Remedies

Himalayan sea salt has been used for centuries to remedy vaginal dryness. Our team here at Chiavaye has yet to test this remedy, so if you try it -- we would love to hear. Add a pinch of the Himalayan sea salt to your water once a day.

Celery Juice Cures Everything

Okay - we say this a little jokingly - but surely you've heard of the celery juice craze! Our Chiavaye team loves celery juice in the morning on an empty stomach. It has done wonders for skin, digestion, hydration, and overall wellness. The idea comes from Medical Medium and he has a whole bunch of information on the subject. Celery is a powerful herb that contains trace minerals and healing properties, and we find these especially beneficial to female health. If you have a juicer, it's super easy to enjoy this treat. Juice 1 bunch of celery (yields about 16 oz) in the morning and consume on an empty stomach. Wait 15-20 minutes before eating or drinking so the celery juice can take effect.
